1979 Trans Am Gallery

In theory all 4 colors of decals were available on all 9 colors offered on the Trans Am (using the D60 Color and Trim, Incompatibility Override option) making 36 possible color variations.  The Tenth Anniversary Trans Am had special decals all around bring the color variations to 37.  Many of the non-matching color combinations were probably never made, for example a Solar Gold TA with a blue bird or a Mayan Red TA with a blue bird.  As we collect more examples we will publish them here.  For now, here are all the variants collected.  If you have a unique color combination not displayed here please send us a copy and we will post it here!  I recall seeing a Heritage Brown Trans Am (circa 1982) on a Pontiac Dealer's lot that had  orange decals.  In all these years I have never seen another nor collected a photograph of a car like that.  See also the 1980 Trans Am gallery for some more unusual color variations.
